What are the Chakras?

Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning Wheel. It is basically a vortex of energy within the body. For thousands/millions of years, there has been knowledge of energy, and its influence on the physical body. Around 11th Century, Due to Tantric Yogic belief, a System of 7 primary Chakras was accepted. There are hundreds or thousands of mini chakras throughout our bodies, all connected by nandis. Energies of the body run along channels called meridians. This same system of energy is used my acupuncturists, reflexology, in trigger point massage ect.

What do they mean to you?

These 7 Major Cakras control and direct the energies outlining the 7 aspects of self. By understanding the correlation between the emotional body and the different aspects of self, one can begin to experience life rather than be the victim of it, as well as understand that of their own alignment at any moment.

How can you Use this knowledge to better your own understanding of self?

There are many tools of healing that work in assisting in the realignment of these energies (healing), but all only have the ability to heal if one allows that modality to create a shift in the perception of the truth they hold within their mind and body. Yes, with such things as Sound Therapy, Elemental Therapy, Aromatherapy, Color Therapy, among many others, there is a scientifically proven changes in biokinetic response patterns, that occur with the use of such modalities: this pattern will not become permanent till one has a shift in their perception of belief.
